The National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) has been set up as an office of the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India to fulfil, on behalf of the Government of India, the obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and to act as the national focal point for effective liaison with the implementing body of CWC i.e. Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The NACWC is the nodal agency for facilitating the participation of its officials and other Indian nationals in the training courses conducted or coordinated by the OPCW and is mandated to maintain a database of the persons who have received trainings and also to maintain the reports for future use.
